I worked on this series of paintings over several years, exploring the idea of containing the abstract colours and marks within a network of lines. They became reminiscent of maps and city plans - the lines lead your eye around the canvas and act as a conduit for the paint.

There’s an element of chaos and busyness associated with cityscapes and the urban landscape.
